10. Photos - New friends, 1000 mile celebrations and wall building

We really liked Split, a great base, and some really good things to eat and see

Relaxed fresh fruit and veg market

We were in good company as we left Split, first Shamrock ...

Then, our first pod of dolphins! (see diary #9)

After leaving Split, Vis island was our next stop, having been highly recommended by our Croatian regatta friends - this is U.Stoncica where we stayed 2 nights, before the Scirocco wind (strong SE) kicked in

So Vis town we had to move round to (the cemetry in the background where Deep Blue almost ended up drifting to!)

Before heading to the west coast to the gorgeous Komiza - an exciting sail in 30kts+

Back in Vis town the next day we hired a scooter to see the interior of Vis where some of the best wine in Europe is grown

We have yet to discover the purpose of these many walls and stone built cairns, scattered all over Vis especially

Next stop, Hvar town on Hvar island ...

... described as the St. Tropez of Croatia (not convinced about that!)

Gordan washes the locally caught King Snapper right outside his EXCELLENT restaurant at Loviste ('just' on the Croatian mainland)
